Artwork

Green On PDFAll artwork should be supplied as high-resolution PDF format with fonts embedded.

PDFs are the standard file format for transmitting files for printing, it is important to prepare your PDF file correctly.

When creating a PDF in Acrobat Distiller, there are options that need to be set for commercial printing. These include default resolution, compression settings and font embedding. Where possible please ensure a 300dpi ‘press ready’ PDF is outputted. Font embedding should be set to “embed all fonts.”

A 3mm bleed all round the PDF is required, i.e. save the PDF with 6mm added to each measurement.

Microsoft Word does not allow you to enlarge your document size for bleeds. To work around this request that your PDF be printed at 102%

Supply as single pages (not as spreads) with crop marks.

Please ensure that all embedded images are CMYK.

RGB images may look good on your screen but final output to print is always in CMYK. Files converted from RGB to CMYK may alter the colour composition significantly!

If in doubt, please contact our pre-press department before creating your files.
